and splash pad.

Once the home of early Native Americans, the Tomoka State Park is a great place for you to explore Florida natural habitats and see a variety of wildlife that includes more than 160 bird species and the endangered West Indian manatee. You can also enjoy fishing, canoeing, kayaking, camping and nature hikes that lead to an old indigo and rice plantation and the grounds of an ancient Timucuan village. A good way to sightsee the state park is by renting a canoe or kayak and paddling the Tomoka River Paddling Trail, a state-designated river trail.

Wonderful Parks

Bulow Creek State Park is a must-do to see the Fairchild Oak, one of the region’s largest live oak trees, as well as the ruins of a sugar plantation. The peaceful walking trails take you around swamps and oak groves where you may see white-tailed deer and other wildlife.

Ormond Beach’s Central Park is yet another outstanding place for recreation and education. Comprising several lakes, a hammock forest, picnic areas, a playground and a discovery center, this park is where you and the whole family can learn about local wildlife through hands-on activities and nature trails.

An ideal way to take in all of Ormond Beach’s natural beauty is by driving the Ormond Scenic Loop, which provides spectacular views of beaches, sand dunes, rivers, swamps and overhanging oak groves covered in Spanish moss.

Surprising History

History buffs may enjoy checking out the Three Chimneys Historical Site to see the remnants of the nation’s oldest rum distillery and sugar mill. You can also tour The Casements, a beautiful mansion that was once the winter home of John D. Rockefeller.

Laid-Back Nightlife

Nightlife in Ormond Beach may not be as lively as nearby Daytona Beach, but you will find a good selection of restaurants, cozy wine bars and brewing companies with beer gardens. You can also enjoy dinner and live theater at the Performing Arts Center.

When to Visit

If you want to visit your Ormond Beach timeshare during the peak travel season, February and March are the busiest months due to many visitors arriving for spring break. While summer months are hot, many families like to vacation here during the summer recess. If you prefer fewer crowds with nice weather, the fall months may present the best time for you.

Florida is known worldwide for its great year-round weather and terrific outdoor activities, and an Ormond Beach timeshare is perfectly positioned to give you the best of a Florida vacation.
