Winter Means Tradition

When the snows fall, the city lights up. Forest City's downtown is considered one of the most picturesque holiday light shows in the country. This is also a great time to explore the shops and holiday events in the nearby towns and be one of the first to climb Chimney Rock and usher in the New Year on January 1.

While this is a quiet, family-friendly area, it is far from boring for adults wanting to enjoy a romantic or fun vacation together. Asheville, NC, and the surrounding small communities are home to several craft breweries where you can spend an afternoon or evening sampling unique beers and beverages, and also numerous small bars and restaurants along the highways and near the lake, where you can catch some excellent views along with whatever entertainment is on schedule that night. The busier times of year will have even more events, with special festivals and entertainment hosted by local communities for the fall and summer tourist seasons.

Best Time to Visit

Tourism in Lake Lure reaches its peak in the fall, especially in September and October when daily highs can still reach the 70s but cool to the 40s for a low and the lack of humidity makes it easy to spend time hiking or cycling in the great outdoors. The abundance of forests in the Blue Ridge foothills are alive with vibrant colors when the seasons change, making this the perfect time to come to your Lake Lure timeshare, spend your days exploring the trails, parks, and shopping districts, then returning home to sip hot cocoa in the evenings.

November, April, and May are the three least-busy months in Lake Lure, outside of the snow and summer seasons, and after the leaves have mostly fallen off the trees surrounding the lake. The winter and summer months tend to have moderate levels of tourism, who come for the skiing, boating, and water sports that take over the area seasonally.

The small towns of the Blue Ridge Mountains near Lake Lure have big hearts. When you spend your vacations in a Lake Lure timeshare, you'll quickly fall in love with the lake, mountains, and unforgettable vistas and you might never want to leave.
