University of New Mexico Golf Course

Since it was officially opened in 1967, The Championship Golf Course has been one of the finest facilities of its kind nationwide. It has been nationally recognized by Golf Digest Magazine as one of the top-25 public courses in the country, and in January of 1991 Golfweek Magazine rated all public and private courses in the country by state, and dubbed The Championship Course the number one course to play in New Mexico. The Course is still holding strong in the rankings seven years later, and in 1998, Golfweek tabbed the Championship Course No. 2 in the West, behind only the Stanford University Golf Course in Palo Alto, Calif. The Championship Course is no stranger to major tournaments. It was the site of the 1950, 1976 and 1992 NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championships as well as the 1998 NCAA Championships. In 1987 the course was the sight of the women's NCAA tourney.

The course rating is 71.9 and it has a slope rating of 127. Tijeras Arroyo golf course opened in 1970. U.S. Air Force Services Agency manages this facility, with Zack Adamson as the General Manager.

Ladera Golf Course

Enjoy a golfing challenge on Albuquerque's West Side at Ladera. Opened in 1980, Ladera features include spacious greens, a broad teeing area and a large driving range tee, roomy practice putting greens, and four large lakes. Surrounding Ladera are beautiful views of the Sandia Mountains to the east and the volcanoes to the west. Ladera measures 7,060 yards from the championship tees, 6,618 from the regulation tees with a Par 72, and 5,966 yards from the women's tee, which also has a Par 72. The course also includes a 9-hole Executive Course that stretches 2,053 yards from the men's tees, and 1,852 yards from the women's tees. The Executive 9-hole course has a moderate to advanced challenge level and is favored by beginners, seniors, and junior golfers. The long course is uniquely designed in natural terrain, nestled at the foot of the volcanoes. Ladera is a challenging city-owned course, with the longest playing yardage of any of the other city courses.

Arroyo del Oso Municipal Golf Course

Nestled in Bear Canyon Arroyo, this 27-hole Northeast Albuquerque course is noted for its interesting topography. Arroyo del Oso isn't necessarily a tough course. Its features - which include large greens, rolling fairways, three water-hole obstacles, and sand traps - meet the needs of intermediate and advanced players The course opened in 1965. A 9-hole addition named "Dam 9" was constructed in 1987, giving Arroyo del Oso its 27 holes. Arroyo del Oso's primary course is 6,545 yards Par 72 for men, and 6,015 yards Par 73 for women. The Dam 9 plays to a Par 36 at 3,300 yards, crossing the Bear Canyon Arroyo three times. In 1981, Golf Digest Magazine rated Arroyo del Oso among the top 50 Municipal Golf Courses in the nation.
