Staying at the Oak 'n Spruce Resort provides access to one of the most beautiful areas in the country. Rolling hills, farms, orchards, state forests, lakes and rivers all abound and offer great outdoor recreation. But one of the best reasons to visit the Berkshires is the endless number of cultural offerings which are all within a short distance from the resort. Five theaters in Berkshire County and many more in surrounding areas offer world class theater. Some shows have gone from a stage in the Berkshires directly to Broadway where they've been nominated for Tony Awards (and even won on occasion). Jacobs Pillow offers eight weeks of unparalleled dance, both traditional and modern. And, of course, the resort is only 5 minutes from Tangle wood, the summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra where you can listen to the most amazing performances under the stars. The number of museums is also surprising: The Norman Rockwell Museum, Chesterwood, the Clark Art Institute (known as the Jewel in the Crown of the Berkshires), the Berkshire Museum where children of all ages can be fascinated and MassMOCA - the home of amazing contemporary art, both large and small. Art galleries show a wide variety of paintings, sculptures, hand crafts and wearable art. And I could go on about the wonderful shopping, from boutiques to outlets, and the many fabulous restaurants which surround the resort. There is no end to the number of things to do and places of interest to see, both night and day. And the Oak 'n Spruce is in the middle of it all.
