Wyndham ownership is a wonderful experience. You are treated like royalty. The property is well maintained. The staff couldn't be more helpful. They assist you from choosing your ideal location, airline reservations, places to see, ... and that is even before you set foot on the property. Once there, the staff is friendly, warm, inviting, helpful, and offer wonderful suggestions for places to see, what tours to take, what shows are there, and best of all, where to find the best places to eat.
Wyndham Grand Desert is a quick trip from the airport, 10 minutes maybe. The rooms are spacious, well maintained, clean, with a full kitchen and dining area. Both the living room and bedrooms have big screen TVs, bathrooms are large (with great water pressure). Some of them even offer your own private hot tub in the room. Grand Desert has three outdoor pools, four outdoor hot tubs, cabanas, comfortable pool lounge chairs, exercise room, bar area, movie theater area, and DVDs to bring back to your room. It also has a small store for some things you forgot to bring.
It offers transportation services (for a nominal fee) to the outlet mall, the grocery store, and to Red Rock Canyon, which is great hiking and beautiful scenery. If you love to take pictures, this is the spot.
It also has a bus that will take you to the "new" strip and drop you off at Harrahs and runs all day long until 11:00PM at night. I believe it might even go to Paris too. All this one costs is a tip to the driver if you wish to. The "new" strip is minutes away, less than the airport ride.
The staff will also help arrange tours to the Hoover Dam, helicopter rides, the double-decker bus ride to see the old strip - which is a must see at nite with all the lights, the place is really something else, spa appts, dinner reservations, you name it, they will go out of their way to help.
The Grand Desert is within walking distance of Planet Hollywood which you can see for the front of the resort. It is a straight short walk and we did this late at nite most nites. It is also within distance of the MGM by going the other way but staff will have to show you the shortcut. What I loved most was I could go and hit the casinos, do the "new" strip, hit all the hotel stores, Planet Hollywood's hundred stores, see the shows, and then within a short time be back at Grand Desert where the pace is leisurely, the noise and the crowds are left on the strip.
With ownership, you also get access to all Wyndham resorts and their affiliated corporation RCI. You can travel in Europe, Hawaii, Alaska, the United States, Mexico, Puerto Rico, the list is endless. And if going to a resort isn't what you always want, they also offer access to major cruise lines. And your points also can be used for airline tickets. And you get access to your own "private travel agency" that will coordinate what you are looking for. (They are also very understanding of new time owners and have a great deal of patience and "walk" you through the process.) AND one of the best things about Wyndham ownership is you are NOT locked into one week, the same week every year. You can decide a winter vacation one year, tropical the next, casinos, resorts, cruises, ... on your schedule.
We wouldn't be selling this except for health reasons as we are no longer able to travel. We truly enjoyed our vacations and the memories will last a lifetime.
