San Diego Country Estates Reviews

Review:
I was again pleased with my return visit to SDCE. This resort was prepared for my COVID concerns both in my room and in areas I visited. I chose to return because this 2-bedroom unit was newly redecorated, gave views of tennis court & pool area activities below, offered patio BBQ opportunities, presented redesigned golf course challenges and was near restaurant and tourist friendly sites - such as Rancho Bernardo, Temecula and greater San Diego. I visited other RCI timeshares but my experiences have been mixed - between regrets and as favorable as SDCE. I would say that this resort remains in the upper 3rd of those experiences.

Review:
Our experience was good, especially being away from popular Disney, beach or mountain-style amenities where ever-present crowds and COVID exposure would be concerns. Resort has pool, tennis, golf and hiking activities for our family, and even horseback riding in nearby mountain trails. Excellent dining choices are a modest drive away. We've timeshared to many resort-popular areas (Orlando, New Orleans, Bahamas, etc.) where the area's attractiveness was the "plus" and the unit only so-so. My wife and I both felt SDCE offered a favorable balance between area and unit amenities few of these gave us. We'll definitely come back to enjoy Fall, Winter and Spring family time.

Review:
SDCE is in the northern sector of San Diego county -- striking a balance for us between rural but resort amenities and easy access to larger city adventures. Our spacious unit offered 2 bedrooms, a living area and window views of the resorts tennis courts and surrounding rocky mountains. Ramona has few restaurants so we ate breakfast and snacks in the unit's kitchen. Many days we drove into San Diego to enjoy their zoo, shoreline views and restaurants. Rancho Bernardo offered shopping and alternative dinning. January was not a good time for golf, but Palm Springs was a bit warmer for playing and more dinning. All in all it was a fine get-away from our colder climate back home. We plan on going again.
