Stroll around town and admire the colorful blend of Colonial, Spanish and Caribbean architecture. Browse the boutiques and shops for souvenirs. Step inside one of the restaurants to savor fresh seafood or the local dish of beans and rice.
For island nightlife, San Pedro is where you want to go. You’ll find several bars here along with three nightclubs. Outside town, you’ll find Saturday night beach parties and beach bars, including some that float on the water and others that feature a bowling alley on the sandy beach.
Kayak the Lagoons and Mangrove Rivers
While the Caribbean side of the island is popular, you don’t want to miss taking a kayak tour through the lagoons and mangrove rivers on the western side. You can see a variety of wildlife such as howler monkeys, crocodiles, iguanas, manatees and a diversity of bird species.

Mayan Ruins

The closest site is Marco Gonzalez, which remains unexcavated but offers some interesting artifacts and a fun jungle adventure. If you want to see more impressive sites, you can arrange a tour that includes jungle walking, wildlife viewing and cave exploring.
When to Visit
While the island may get crowded during the peak season (November through mid-April), it may be worth it to visit to your Ambergris Caye timeshare during this time due to the clear, sunny skies and warm temperatures. If you don’t mind rain and occasional storms, summer (June to September) may be an option. Late September and October present the best time to escape crowds, but some establishments may close during the offseason.
