Seasonal whale watching is amongst the top tourist attractions in the Cabo San Lucas region within the winter months, particularly between January and March. Many enormous whales migrate through these warm waters at this time of the year and can even be observed from the coastline at times. However, for many, the whales are best observed a little closer and numerous whale watching cruises provide the best views of grey whales (Pacific grey), which can reach lengths of more than 15 metres / 50 feet. It is also often possible to see both blue whales and sperm whales close to Cabo San Lucas and particularly slightly to the north of the city.
Helitours of Cabo San Lucas offer one of the best and most unique ways to sightsee around the area and view the main coastal attractions from up high. These helicopter tours last for at least an hour and are especially interesting during the winter months, when it is often possible to spot groups of migrating whales nearby.

Bullfighting in Cabo San Lucas is humane and no animals are harmed during the performances. These colourful events usually take pace each Wednesday and Saturday afternoon and always draw large crowds. The bullring itself is located within easy reach of the city centre and often hosts further events, such as Mexican fiestas, rodeo cowboy competitions and more.
Those who like to enjoy exciting and thrilling attractions should consider a bungee jump from the Baja Bungee, which is close to Medano Beach. At almost 30 metres / 100 feet in height, there are superb views around Cabo San Lucas from the top of the Baja Bungee tower. Crowds often gather at the bottom of the tower to watch the brave bungee jumpers, so if you are not brave enough to jump yourself, this attraction may still be worth considering, particularly if you are sunbathing on Medano Beach.
