Since it was officially opened in 1967, The Championship Golf Course has been one of the finest facilities of its kind nationwide. It has been nationally recognized by Golf Digest Magazine as one of the top-25 public courses in the country, and in January of 1991 Golfweek Magazine rated all public and private courses in the country by state, and dubbed The Championship Course the number one course to play in New Mexico. The Course is still holding strong in the rankings seven years later, and in 1998, Golfweek tabbed the Championship Course No. 2 in the West, behind only the Stanford University Golf Course in Palo Alto, Calif. The Championship Course is no stranger to major tournaments. It was the site of the 1950, 1976 and 1992 NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championships as well as the 1998 NCAA Championships. In 1987 the course was the sight of the women's NCAA tourney.
The 18-hole "Tijeras Arroyo" course at the Kirtland Golf Course facility in Kirtland Afb, New Mexico features 6,971 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72 . The course rating is 71.9 and it has a slope rating of 127. Tijeras Arroyo golf course opened in 1970. U.S. Air Force Services Agency manages this facility, with Zack Adamson as the General Manager.
The Sandia Golf Club was developed by the Pueblo of Sandia as an amenity of the Sandia Resort & Casino. The Club features a 7,772-yard golf course designed by Scott Miller and managed by OB Sports Golf Management. The Golf course opened for play on June 11, 2005.
Our 27-hole public golf course is situated on the east side of the Sandia Mountains, at elevations ranging from 6,500 to 7,000 feet. The layout of the course features landing areas and greens separated by arroyos, native vegetation, and rock outcroppings. Each hole in the upscale course has five sets of tees allowing play from 5,702 to 7,562 yards, and many of the holes play downhill through ponderosa, pinon and juniper. Los Altos is the oldest of the City's four courses, opening in 1960. The course is built to favor the weekend golfer with a natural slice. In general, the course is intended for relatively fast play. A foursome could play an 18-hole round in less than 4 hours. The 9-hole Executive Par 3 Course is designed to satisfy golfers who have only a limited time to play. Despite the seemingly flat terrain, the course layout features two large lakes, numerous mature trees, and large sand traps. Los Altos is ideal for the beginner to intermediate golfer. It measures 6,180 yards from the men's tees at par 71, and 5,895 yards from the women's tees at par 74.

Nestled in Bear Canyon Arroyo, this 27-hole Northeast Albuquerque course is noted for its interesting topography. Arroyo del Oso isn't necessarily a tough course. Its features - which include large greens, rolling fairways, three water-hole obstacles, and sand traps - meet the needs of intermediate and advanced players The course opened in 1965. A 9-hole addition named "Dam 9" was constructed in 1987, giving Arroyo del Oso its 27 holes. Arroyo del Oso's primary course is 6,545 yards Par 72 for men, and 6,015 yards Par 73 for women. The Dam 9 plays to a Par 36 at 3,300 yards, crossing the Bear Canyon Arroyo three times. In 1981, Golf Digest Magazine rated Arroyo del Oso among the top 50 Municipal Golf Courses in the nation.
