One of the great attractions of Cancun, not only for being perfect for scuba diving and snorkelling, but by setting up a community of diverse and complex marine life is known in this part of the world, comparable in biodiversity a tropical forest. 
Located off the coast of the municipalities of Isla Mujeres and Benito Juárez, this unique marine park is also home to coral reefs, lush and rampant biodiversity, both aquatic and terrestrial. Activities in the area have recorded 40 species of terrestrial flora, mangrove and characteristic examples of coastal dunes, while the aquatic varieties line the 235 species, including algae and seagrasses. 
On the wall there are 35 species of scleractinian corals and 37 soft corals, 83 species of sponges and 43 different mollusks, including chitons, snails, oysters, octopus and squid, 65 varieties of polychaetes (marine worms), 37 crustaceans and 24 echinoderms, such as starfish, sea urchins and sea cucumbers; among other unique forms of marine life.
