The cabin is 24' x 24' with a sleeping loft. There is a sofa and a sofa bed, a Lazy Boy lounge chair, a rocking chair, numerous cabinets and storage units, a four-burner gas stove, a small propane refrigerator, a deep stainless steel sink, and a shower unit in a bath area with hot water supplied through an "on demand" propane water heater (the heater only runs and heats water when hot water is turned on - a very efficient unit, approximately 117,000 BTU). There is a 100 lb and two 20 lb propane tanks included and located on the adjoining porch of the cabin.
There is an 10' x 8' outbuilding with a storage loft. The building houses an excellent generator, a small work table, and is built on top of the sewage holding tank. The outhouse is well ventilated, but there is a pipe in place below the cabin foundation to add an indoor toilet.
The cabin is built on nine concrete foundation posts, and is very well insulated. It has five windows downstairs that tilt in for easy cleaning and big window of 1" thick insulated glass that offers a beautiful view. There are three windows in the sleeping loft that offer good cross ventilation for comfortable sleep. There are two decks built out over the large rocky ridge on a slope to give a great view of the valley and the lake below. The decks are about 250 feet from the cabin with a beautiful area in between. A nice campfire area is located just beside the decks. The valley in the fall can be breathtaking and the lake below produces a spectacular sight - when the warm lake waters meet the cool mountain air, it produces an incredible sight as the valley fills with mist and only the tops of the surrounding mountains are visible.
The nighttime sky is a riot of stars with no lights from any towns to disturb the surrounding darkness. The night sky is an absolute thrill to behold - to have a full moon overhead shining down on the valley mist sets it to glow as if lit from within. Very romantic and thought provoking! The land offers a rare treasure of peace and solitude in these days. Another wonderful advantage to the location of the decks is the cool lake helps provide an almost constant breeze to refresh you even on the hottest days with plenty of shade from the surrounding forest.
The open area between the cabin and the decks is lined on the southward, lake-side with a fence made from small trees and saplings. There are about seven small white pine trees around the cabin and another seven more planted along the fence line to the decks. The larger deck was built with large shale rocks as a backdrop on a steep slope and is about ten feet high at the far edge with corner benches and a small oak tree in the center of the deck along with a small flower box. There are two more flower areas along the rocks beside the deck.
The sound of "goose music" can be heard from the lake below with Great Blue Herons. With two species of hawks and nesting bald eagles in the area, the variety of birdlife is incredible. There is a wetlands area at the entrance to the valley that promotes an wide variety of wildlife, including mink and beavers, good hunting of turkey, bear, and deer, with good fishing in the lake and river about four miles from the land.
The area has a rich Native American heritage. The cabin has a large, hand-made oak table and an oak clothes tree. There are oak towel racks in the bath area and shelves at and above each window and above each of the two steel entrance doors and the louvered bath door. There are some interesting storage cabinets by each entrance door - an indoor wood storage area and a large wood pile rack beside the cabin. The attached porch is about 6' x 24'.
The land offers an incredible beauty along with a sense of peace and tranquility that has all but vanished from our "too fast" world... To sit on the deck and watch the sunrise while being serenaded by the geese on the lake below or to watch the valley mist glow under an incredible full moon. To sit by the campfire and dream as an owl's call echoes down the valley. To breathe truly fresh air under a perfect star-filled black night. This is to truly find inner peace and happiness!
