Waikiki Beach Walk is the largest development project ever to be undertaken in Waikiki's history. Nearly eight acres along well traversed Lewers Street is being completely rebuilt and will emerge as a vibrant showcase and gathering place in a new Waikiki. Waikiki Beach Walk will be energetic and inviting, eclectic and exciting, a leisure destination to play and to stay. An outdoor entertainment plaza, forty new retailers, six great restaurants, and four hotels will welcome visitors and island residents alike to redefine the Waikiki experience. The design theme of Waikiki Beach Walk celebrates Hawaii's seafaring and ocean heritage and takes advantage of the island's cooling trade winds and year-round excellent weather. When completed, it will be the consummate expression of Hawaii today -- a place where people come to be enlivened with warm hospitality, a rich confluence of cultures, and nature's precious gifts from land and sea.
