The 18-hole "Sundance" course at the Sundance Golf Course facility in Nine Mile Falls, Washington features 6,010 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 70 . The course rating is 67.9 and it has a slope rating of 112. Designed by Dale Knott, the Sundance golf course opened in 1965. Christoper A. Runyan manages the course as the Golf Professional.
Riverfront Park occupies 100 acres of land and water with a rich and varied history. Spokane Falls and the surrounding land has long been a gathering place for people. Native Americans gathered and fished at the falls. In the late 1800's, pioneers settled here and started the city of Spokane. The railroad industry fueled the city's growth and rail yards covered Havermale Island, the present site of Riverfront Park.
Indian Canyon was designed in 1930 by H. Chandler Egan and opened for play in 1935. Indian Canyon has been chosen by Golf Digest as one of the top 25 public courses in the United States. The course sits atop the west entrance to Spokane, overlooking the city. As the host to many major tournaments, Indian Canyon has hosted the USGA three times, the United States Amateur Public Links Championship in 1941 and 1984, and the United States Women's Amateur Public Links Championship in 1989.
The 18-hole "Hangman Valley" course at the Hangman Valley Golf Course facility in Spokane, Washington features 6,906 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72 . The course rating is 71.9 and it has a slope rating of 126 on Blue grass. Designed by Bob E. Baldock/Robert L. Baldock/(R)Rick Phelps, ASGCA, the Hangman Valley golf course opened in 2009. Steve Nelke manages the course as the Golf Professional.
Esmeralda, constructed in 1956, is located in northeast Spokane and offers open space and flat fairways lined with over 2,000 trees. This combination of attributes makes this superbly maintained course an easy one to break 100 on and tough to break par. Seniors and beginners find Esmeralda a great haven and help to make it Spokane's most played municipal course with par 70, 6,249 yards.
