What I liked about the Resort
The resort itself has everything - grills in a couple areas, kids playground, video game room for teens 12-17 (PS3 and Wii) that they can play for free, a video game arcade with about a dozen games (including air hockey), wireless internet throughout pool area and lobby, and really high speed internet in the room (wired but about 13 Mbps download). A 2-bedroom condo is about 1200 sq feet and plenty of room for 6-8 people. There is a slide for kids (adults welcome) in the pool, waterfall, fountains, baby pool, and a couple really big jacuzzis - can probably sit 10-12 people comfortably if not more. The grounds are very well kept and the staff is mostly very friendly and courteous. Marriott has outdone itself with this property and the adjacent Ocean Club and Stellaris Hotel & Casino on the other side of it are just as well kept albeit older properties. Plenty of room to walk around, taxis always available if you don't have a rental car, and plenty of free parking available if you have a rental car.
While on the island, highly recommend "Baby Beach" for kids - it's on the opposite side of the island from Marriott (by the Valero refinery in San Nicolaas) but if you make a day of it, kids will love it. They could go a few hundred feet into water and it's still about 4 feet or less deep and really great snorkeling in shallow water. Bring your towels there and sunscreen - a cabana will run you $31/day and a chair $6/day there.
I am sure you will love the Marriott as much as we did. We are a young couple (31, 29) and 2 kids (3, 9) and we all really loved it. TV is almost all-American which was nice to keep kids busy a bit with 2 Disney channels, Nick, Cartoon Network, etc. Overall, can't find a single thing wrong here other than paying the listed prices if you're not a timeshare owner (which I will soon be - this place is absolutely wonderful unless you expect to be waited on hand and foot 24x7).

Review
Where do I begin? I could write a book but hopefully this will be useful. First off, most vacationers here are timeshare owners and/or guests of those owners. Everyone was very friendly and even though 2nd part of our week was officially 'spring break', it was mostly a wholesome atmosphere. The resort itself is spectacular. It's only 3 years old and in really good shape. The lazy river in the pool area was great - kids and adults love it. We went during arguably the busiest season in March so it was quite crowded. You have to get up early (shortly before 7 am) if you want to reserve a decent chair by the pool or beach. Many beach chairs have covers over them and huts can be rented or had free (closer ones to the beach are rented at about $10/day). They easily can cover 4 people from the sun. The beach was great - a bit rocky in spots (tiny rocks) and some mild seaweed but otherwise - perfect beaches in Marriott area.
