Harbor Ridge Resort

What I liked about the Resort
Harbor Ridge was right at the bottom part of Acadia National Park in Southwest Harbor. The location was off the beaten path and beautifully done. You had views of the ocean if you were on a second floor unit which we were and the rooms were phenomenal. Everything you needed was at the resort, the indoor and outdoor pool, the playground for the kids, and the main building had an awesome place to go and play games in the arcade or even a board game in the main lounge. They also had a very cute gift shop in the lobby with tons of local stuff.

What are the best attractions and/or restaurants
As far as things nearby to do there were a few restaurants down the road and there were tons of attractions on the islands, the main ones being the beaches of course. One thing I recommend is visiting Acadia National Park that is one thing you do not want to miss, even if you just drive through it with a day pass like we did. We stopped at the Sandy Beach and a few other places, just stopping to check out the views and all of the plaques they had. Make sure you just go driving into the little towns to check out all of the amazing houses and lighthouses too!

Review
Over all I would recommend this resort to anyone loking to stay of of the main roads and away from too much tourist traffic. It is close to lots of things, but I would say that you need a car to get around, unless you like hiking a few miles into town. The resort had the basics that you needed though so that was nice, but if you really needed anything keep a car with you. But the indoor pool was a nice place to relax after a day of exploring all the island had to offer, and there are a few bookshops that I wish I had the chance to stop at but everything was very go go go. One thing to make sure you do no matter what is to stop at a local restaurant, not a chain one and get a lobster roll, or anything else lobster since they are so famous for it! And trust me you wont want to eat lobster anywhere else. One thing you should do while you are there though is visit Bar Harbor and take in the sites, you can check out all of the history and take a walk down town through all of the little shops, restaurants and enjoy something other than tourist souvenirs but I would say feel free to grab a sweatshirt or a shirt since you will want to remember this vacation. A few other things to do are take a ferry out to the other islands, or go on a whale watching tour as well.

Harbor Ridge - Sept

What I liked about the Resort
S.W. Harbor, Harbor Ridge is a very quiet and private resort with amenities for family and singles. Week 36 is just after school goes in for most areas and therefore the islands are not a congested. Great week!

What are the best attractions and/or restaurants
Bar Harbor is filled with great restaurants and there are many close by as well. Try Walkers in SW Harbor - great food, local and great atmosphere.

Review
