Appalachian National Scenic Trail - NC

Appalachian National Scenic Trail The Appalachian Trail is a 2,175-mile long public footpath. Conceived in 1921 and completed in 1937, private citizens built the trail and thousands like you each year volunteer to maintain its footprint. From Maine's Mount Katahdin and Georgia's Springer Mountain, this footpath traverses scenic, wooded, pastoral, wild and culturally resonant lands through 14 of the eastern United States.

Bristol Golf Club

The 9-hole "Bristol" course at the Bristol Golf Club facility in Bristol, Rhode Island features 2,097 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 32 . The course rating is 27.0 and it has a slope rating of 81. Bristol golf course opened in 1964. Patty Francis manages the course as the General Manager.

Cranston Country Club

Cranston Country Club hosts weddings, corporate events, bridal showers, bachelor parties and family events from 50- 230 guests. The Club started hosting weddings in 1987 and added a new room featuring a spiral staircase in 2000. The room offers great golf course views in a contemporary setting. Cranston Country Club hosts a wide variety of golf events throughout the golf season. The Club has been a tour stop for the Cleveland Golf Tour, RIGA 4 Ball Championship in 2007, and the RI High School State Championship site for the last 10 years.

Fort Adams

Take a step back in history.  Fort Adams dates all the way back to the Colonial Period.  Guided tours will teach you the history of this mighty marvel.  Types of tours include the traditional guided tour, self guided tour, storm the fort, life in the fort, and the fort ghost walks.    In the traditional guided tour you will receive an hour long tour that will take you from the top of the fort walls to the underground tunnels.  On this tour you will be given the opportunity to see the living quarters where officers and their families lived, view the miraculous scenery of Newport Harbor and Narragansett Bay, learn about past and future plans for the fort, tour the underground tunnels, and experience American history, military culture and architecture and engineering marvel!  For a description on the other tours, please log onto Fort Adams online site.

The 18-hole "Green Valley" course at the Green Valley Country Club facility in Portsmouth, Rhode Island features 6,830 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 71 . The course rating is 71.5 and it has a slope rating of 124. Designed by Manuel J. Raposa, the Green Valley golf course opened in 1957. Ronald J. Raposa manages the course as the Owner.

Laurel Lane Golf Club

The favorite place to play golf in South County for over 45 years, Laurel Lane is beautifully maintained and open to the public. It is conveniently located just off Rte. 138 in West Kingston, Rhode Island. The course is situated in a very natural setting for a most relaxing round of golf. Our friendly staff will ensure that your day at Laurel Lane is a most enjoyable one. Laurel Lane Country Club is an 18 hole, par 71, 6128 yard, public golf course, situated 10 minutes south of Providence R.I. We are located close to major highways. Laurel Lane is owned by Videtta Golf Management, along with Pine Ridge Country Club, in North Oxford, Ma., Country View Country Club in Burriville, RI. With relatively few bunkers on the course and a picturesque layout, Laurel Lane is an excellent course for players of all skill levels. All golf carts are equipped with roofs, and windshields for your comfort.
