Disney Timeshare Resale
Buying Disney Points Resale Is a Smart Move in Timeshare
Does your family love all things Disney? Do you expect to visit Walt Disney World and Disneyland with them regularly? Then an investment in Disney timeshare more than justifies its cost. Here's why buying your Disney ownership as a resale is a wise choice.
What's a Timeshare Resale?
What does it mean to buy your Disney contract resale? That's what occurs when you make your purchase from a source that is not Disney Vacation Club themselves. Usually, this just means you're buying from an existing owner who wants to sell some or all of their Disney points. That owner may use a reputable timeshare sales agent to handle the transaction.
Are Timeshare Resales Legal?
Some ask whether it's legitimate to purchase Disney timeshares as resales. It certainly is. Just as with any real estate purchase, clear title must be established on the part of the seller. After that, especially with the help of an experienced timeshare transfer agent, your new purchase becomes just as rightfully yours as if you had made it directly from Disney.
What Are the Benefits of Buying Resale?
Cost savings is the biggest benefit of purchasing your Disney ownership as a resale. Disney timeshare is valued on a per-point basis, and the savings the resale market offers are significant.
This is because Disney themselves prices timeshare purchases to cover their administrative, marketing, construction, and maintenance costs. However, those extra costs were paid up front by the original purchaser, so when you buy on the resale market, you pay only the value of the timeshare interest, not for the add-ons.
Cost savings are present in another way in Disney timeshare resales. You must purchase a minimum number of points when you buy directly from Disney. However, no such restriction exists on a resale buy. This means you can start a custom-sized Disney timeshare ownership easily, by buying only as much resale as you can afford and adding on to it as your budget allows.
Why Doesn't Everybody Buy Resale Timeshare?
Disney does reserve certain extra perks for those who buy their ownership through Disney Vacation Club directly, However, many Disney owners who live in the U.S. do not consider these restrictions significant. For example, your resale-purchased points cannot be used for Disney Cruises, nor can they be used for stays at Disney properties with no timeshare units. That includes all Disney properties outside the U.S.
Your Disney Resale Opens the Door to More than Theme Parks
Vacation at Walt Disney World Orlando and you can splash it up at Blizzard Beach Water Park, Typhoon Lagoon Water Park, or pool hop from one amazing resort pool to the next. When you choose to vacation at the Orlando Disney resorts, you can rent bikes, canoes, kayaks, or paddle boats; watch movies under the stars and listen to skilled storytellers spinning their tales around the campfire. There is even the chance to take off on a hot air balloon ride, a pony ride, or a romantic carriage ride - and this is only a tiny snippet of all the vacation fun you can choose in addition to the theme parks.
Both Walt Disney World Orlando and Disneyland Anaheim have an area known as Downtown Disney. With plenty to interest the kids and even more fun for adults, Downtown Disney offers clubs, shopping, dining, special events, and a diversity of entertainment options. Although there are activity or event fees for select parts of Downtown Disney, (such as bowling a game at Splitsville, Downtown Disney Orlando's new 50,000-square-foot retro, two-story bowling alley) general admission and parking at both Downtown Disney locations are free.
At Disney's three beach destination DVC resorts, you'll enjoy spectacular pools, water sports, cook-outs, luaus, and other beach vacation fun. Each of the beach properties offers special kid's programs, family entertainment, and of course, miles of beautiful beaches.
Let a Disney Resale Be Your Disney Home Away from Home
Owning a Disney resale timeshare is like owning a vacation home at your favorite Disney resort, without the year-round responsibilities of ownership. Because Disney resorts really are so much like home, you'll find you use the convenient in-unit washer and dryer, pack lighter, and fix simple (or even elaborate) meals in your well equipped kitchen, saving you the time and cost of dining out. When you vacation in your Orlando Disney resort, you even have the opportunity to utilize outside companies that specialize in storage solutions for DVC members.
For a fee, these companies (you'll find them by searching the web for terms such as "dvc storage locker") provide sealed, secure storage bins you can reserve annually. Load your bins with the vacation gear you use during your Disney vacations and store them from one visit to the next. How easy would it be to enjoy your Disney resale if you had the families' spare swim gear, pool toys, even golf clubs already waiting for you in Orlando?
As part of their service, many storage providers deliver the gear directly to your Disney timeshare, so that everything you need for your vacation is ready and waiting when you arrive. The decision to buy a Disney resale truly can make planning and taking vacations easier than it has ever been. And because your vacation accommodations are pre-paid at the discount pricing available only in a Disney resale, you'll be able to enjoy your family vacations every year, regardless of any ups and downs the economy may take.
What Privileges Do I Have as an Owner of Resale Points?
Disney ownerships purchased resale provide their buyer with the same reservation-booking rights that any other owner has at the following resorts:
- the eight Disney timeshare properties in Florida, including the seven at Walt Disney World
- the Hilton Head Island Resort
- Disney's Aulani in Hawaii
- the Villas at the Grand Californian, at Disney's California Adventure.
Also, as a resale buyer, you are fully entitled to use the following:
- Disney Dining Programs, to save on your family's meals
- Magical Express, to avoid hauling the family's bags yourself while in transit to and from Orlando Airport
- Extra Magic Hours privileges, to enjoy Disney's parks during less crowded hours
- the Disney transit system in and between the parks, including all buses, trams, monorails and water taxis
In short, for most U.S. purchasers' purposes, you don't lose much by buying Disney timeshares as resales, except for some unnecessary costs.
Count on one thing in the Disney timeshare-buying market, though. Whether resale or direct from Disney themselves, Disney ownership is a hot commodity that keeps getting more expensive. Get your research done and buy sooner, rather than later, to lock in your great deal!
