Alternative Travel Better Than Aircraft? September 2, 2008
Posted by Bryan Connelly in : ARDA, General, JetShare, News & Events, Timeshare Rental, Timeshare Resale, Timeshare Resource, Travel, Uncategorized , add a commentThe only thing dictating travel nowadays is cost of fuel. Even the increased price of fruit this year can be attributed to the price of gas. This has also triggered the largest jump in airfares in the past 25years. These high fares and slowing economy are causing vacationers to at least investigate alternatives to this costly yet efficient mode of transportation.
Though gas prices have been falling for the past month, they are still encroaching on the $4 mark, with the national average hovering at $3.67per gallon. AAA reports that more than 34million people will travel 50miles or more over Labor Day weekend alone. 83% of these people will get there by car. Companies like Amtrak and discount bus carriers are trying to capitalize on this percentage, offering everything from cheap rates to more leg room.
For traveling the real distances, like intercontinental vacationing, or even from JFK to LAX, the airfare and security lines are an inevitable truth that must be accepted. Trips throughout the country are available through companies like Amtrak, a railway carrier that has thoroughly wrapped itself around the country. The tickets cost far less, but expect the trip to take twice to three times as long as a direct flight. Katrina Romero, Amtrak spokeswoman said “we’re attributing about half of the increase to the price of gas alone and the other half to travelers seeking an alternative to driving or flying …people are fed up with traffic jams and airport security lines.”
Air Transport Association president Jim May says “economic uncertainty and the heavy hit from sky-high energy prices mean that many vacation and business travelers are choosing to stay closer to home.” So why fly to Florida when you can hop on a train or charter a bus? Airlines are still your best bet, if you are traveling from Boston to your suite in Aruba, but if you are simply visiting your aunt in Chicago, maybe a bus or a train would be your best bet.
Labor Day Travel Deals August 30, 2008
Posted by Bryan Connelly in : ARDA, General, News & Events, Timeshare Rental, Timeshare Resale, Timeshare Resource, Travel, Uncategorized , add a commentLabor Day is one of those milestone holidays, like when Memorial Day kicks off summer, September initiates the autumn weather. Bargain shopping, cheap airfare, and numerous deals for end-of-summer savings are everywhere. Ideal for leaf-peeping, fishing and hunting expeditions or a last minute vacation in the tropics—Labor Day is when the fall clearances begin. Airlines, hotels, and restaurants are all competing to get your business, and depending on how you shop, you could save thousands on a trip anywhere in the world!
Many domestic airlines are getting an early jump on fall time fare bargains. The Air Transportation Association stated the reason is falling demand, and U.S. airlines expect to carry nearly 6 percent fewer passengers over the holiday period than they did last year. Foreign carriers are hopping onboard as well slashing prices just to keep seats filled. Rick Seaney, chief executive of FareCompare.com, a Texas-based firm that tracks airline ticket prices, explains “There seem to be a lot of price-slashing happening this year… It’s a bit more aggressive than what we usually see.”
The best deals for travel are between Labor Day and Thanksgiving holiday travel. Due to dwindling air traffic and travelers abroad, a great time to find cheap fares is now! Typically fewer people are booking travel during this time of year—proving to be a slow period for airlines. Seany remarked “I think [airlines] want to make sure those planes are full, so they’re topping them off with these cheep fares.”
Timeshares have always proven beneficial for annual vacationers. Unfortunately, a far off tropical timeshare is not worth much if you have to spend a small for tune just to get there. At BuyATimeshar.com we have vacation properties on the resale market that are priced to sell. Combined with the early jump to fall rates, you and yours could really save this Labor Day season.

Hawaii Timeshare Vacations Still Thriving August 25, 2008

Since the 1950’s-60’s this tropical paradise has stood alone, introducing the world to the Aloha spirit: a warm atmosphere and people that compliment the island’s wonderful temperature. Despite the awkward American economy, timeshare occupancy on all of Hawaii’s six islands remains high and stable. BuyATimeshare.com, a leader in the timeshare resale industry, has been offering affordable deals on Hawaii timeshares for almost ten years.
Over the past year the American economy has taken countless blows. Travel and leisure have taken the brunt of the spending lull. Because of this pause, airlines and hotels have taken action—inflating their prices and shrinking inventory. Hawaii alone has lost 3,000 jobs, 95,000 airline seats and five overnight cruise ships during this economic downturn. Timeshare resorts throughout the state, like Westin Ka’anapali and Wyndham, were 88.6 percent full in the second quarter. That number is expected to increase to 91.9 percent for the third quarter, according to a recent study released by the American Resort Development Association.
Mitch Imanaka, chair of ARDA Hawaii said “these figures demonstrate once again that even during downturns in tourism, timeshare continues to stand out as a reliable source of revenue for Hawaii’s economy and provide jobs for Hawaii’s people. Ownership is the highest form of loyalty. It is clear timeshare owners are suing their scheduled vacation time in Hawaii because they have already paid for their accommodations. With the expense of their stay pre-paid, it’s easier for them to cover today’s higher airline ticket costs and overcome other economic concerns that are impeding travel to Hawaii.” In 2007 timeshare owners generated $41.4million in tax revenue. As of last year 6,952 Hawaii residents owned timeshare units throughout the state. Regardless of economic trends, BuyATimeshare.com has affordable array of vacations at Hawaii. These are top-shelf resorts like Marriott, Shell Vacations Club, and Diamond Resorts—priced to sell thousands of dollars less than what the developer would offer them
The incredible group of islands is almost its own country with sights that can only been seen while at Hawaii. There are spectacular shows of glowing lava from Kileaua Volcano, the world’s most active volcano, on Hawaii’s Big Island. Here travelers can gain access to regularly scheduled tours of the scorching scenery. Enjoy the surfing at the famed North shore of Oahu. Anytime of year is a good time to visit Hawaii. Summer months (April thru November) are warmer and dry at 75-80degrees Fahrenheit. The winter months (December thru March) are a bit cooler at 68-80degrees. It is the trade winds that keep things comfortable year-round.
