The immense popularity of timesharing has given way to numerous businesses and among them, unscrupulous, money hungry thieves composing various schemes to trick unsuspecting people out of their hard-earned cash.

Some of these “companies” will waste your time and take your money with little in return. More and more hollow timeshare companies are appearing and each with their own brand of deception. It is becoming evermore difficult for even the most experienced vacation-goer to keep up with who to trust and who to discard as a scam—so who is worthy of your business? New-and-improved sales tactics are constantly being developed; most are in place to get your money and have no interest in providing a service. The truth is however, that people who have a timeshare and are interested in selling them, need help, as do those first-time vacation property buyers. There are a number of methods you can use to make sure that whatever company you work with is the right one. You will most likely find that BuyATimeshare.com is your best bet, with more to offer than the rest.

Making an inquiry on the Better Business Bureau (BBB) website to help you find the advertising organization that is a BBB accredited member. This is a priceless resource for helping consumers distinguish who they want to do business and if any complaints have been filed by others who have done business with them. Some experts may advise not going through an advertising company, but to instead sell through a newspaper or magazine. This effort would not only be redundant, but so costly by the end it would be worth your while to simply keep it. BuyATimeshare.com already invests in advertising across various media including print, television, billboards and worldwide internet exposure. Real estate agents are confined to their state, and when selling, you want a company that will handle the entire closing and escrow process—and BuyATimeshare.com does!

We already guarantee advertising your property until sold, with no additional costs. It is expensive to advertise your property, just in print; it will cost even more to advertise over multiple months and media. Many experts have been capitalizing on warning consumers about timeshares and their affiliates. Just think of it as advice and not gospel—don’t cheat yourself out of a legitimate business simply because some bias writer told you to be wary.

It seems people have become so concerned with warning others about scams that they are scaring people out of doing any business at all. Everyone is bias; the trick is making your own decision. Take whatever you have learned and look at the big picture. Don’t rush into anything or make a hasty choice—because much like when you bought the timeshare from a developer, it will stay with you. Do your research and BuyATimeshare.com will be waiting to advertise your property with no appraisal fees or sales pressure!

BuyATimeshare.com has taken many steps and employed innovative pieces of technology in an effort to provide the best of what the internet has to offer. After an initial 60 day trial of LivePerson Chat software we have been able to provide an ideal combination of increased productivity and customer satisfaction.

The heightened customer service has generated greater timeshare sales simply by allowing questions to be answered instantly. Some need help navigating the website, others have very specific tastes in where they want to vacation. With the ability to aide people in their searches, we have been able to match property to owner much more effectively. LivePerson has enabled us to build customer confidence and trust, providing a comfortable atmosphere and immediate assistance.

Our employees can accompany or guide visitors through our site giving useful information and product descriptions along the way. We have always found that educating people allows them to make educated decisions. During our preliminary trial of LivePerson Chat we instantly saw that consumers were more apt to chat while browsing our website, rather than relying on phone calls. About 90% of customers using LivePerson were satisfied with the interaction, they spent less time searching on their own, and left with the exact information that they were looking for. Customers can request help at any time while they are still on the BuyATimeshare.com website and because of this, sales have increased almost 30%. Nearly 80% of our customers made initial contact via on line, by emails or through an internet search. The technological steps forward are bringing our office to your PC where buying, renting or selling your timeshare is a mere moment of your time.

Online interactions with our trained buyer specialists have brought interested buyers to find product information and answers to general timeshare questions. This feature has enabled us to see trends in the resale market and consumer preference. BuyATimeshare.com is the leading name in the timeshare resale industry, our aggressiveness and dedication to sell timeshares is unparalleled. If you have any questions or just want some advice, feel free to log in and chat with one of our professionals in Tampa, Florida or Merrimack, New Hampshire.

In addition to LivePerson Chat, our website has some important features that many consumers may not even see. All file and contact information is kept protected in our database made hacker safe by McAfee, guarding against any identity theft or credit card fraud. Our websites are tested and certified daily to pass the McAfee Secure Security Scan. To help address concerns about hacker access to confidential data, the “live” McAfee Secure mark appears only when a web site meets the McAfee Secure standard.

These steps made by BuyATimeshare.com are taken to bring the best service possible to buyers and customers advertising their property. Our efforts to provide the best of what the internet has to offer are paying off, and showing up as satisfied customers and timeshares sold.

Timeshare Resale Surpasses the Developers June 19, 2008

Though timesharing has seen unwavering worldwide success, part of this is due to the efficiency of hard selling sales people at resort sales presentations. Especially in recent news the web has been buzzing about the resale market. If you Google timeshare news, you will be inundated with blogs and journalists raving about the timeshare resale market and how this is the only way to go. At BuyATimeshare.com we certainly agree, with thousands of timeshares for sale by owner, there properties are often priced to move immediately.

Timesharing is a great concept that bestows unmitigated luxury upon all who vacation. Unfortunately there is only a few ways to buy into this. You and yours can simply endure a lengthy presentation about how great and how versatile timeshares are, only to pay 300 times what they are worth. There is of course an alternative to this primary market—the secondary or the resale market. BuyATimeshare.com has been at the forefront for over a decade and we are seeing a genuine increase in the popularity of timeshare resale. Our company was one of the first to initiate the resale idea, helping those who have bought into the aggressive sales people and no longer use or want their vacation property.

If you have sat though any one of these resort developers’ presentations you have seen firsthand the gambit of high-dollar sales tactics you’re up against. After years and years of this, many people have gotten fed up with the false promises. Many investors have complained about sales people promising big profits within 1year. This is one of the most common pitfalls we hear about. Unfortunately the idea of making a profit from a timeshare is simply untrue. Once purchased they depreciate rapidly. Timeshares are an investment in lifestyle and the only profits are from the great vacationing experience that comes with them.

The hard selling developers are working in the NOW! They will try harder with unparalleled sales tactics to try and try to get you to sign THAT DAY! Any promises they make are certainly a ploy and most likely untrue. Some customers even claim that they were not informed about the annual maintenance fees and how they often increase over time. Maintenance fees are of course the first things an owner will see. After a few years of paying for something they have not used, the owner often becomes so frustrated that they seek out the resale market, to get whatever return on their “investment” that they can.

Developers may claim that “we deliver what we promise” however, once you give your precious signature, it will be off to the next unsuspecting vacation goer, and your new best friend sales associate, will become a stranger again. If you are interested in buying a timeshare, there are few places that will offer prices 30-50% less what that incredibly efficient sales professional will. Overall, these sales tours and presentations are great for a few concert tickets, perhaps dinner, and sometimes cold hard cash—all for sitting through a timeshare spiel.

If you are vacationing in Florida and would like the free gifts they promise, then by all mean sit through the production, do not sign a single piece of paper, and watch the sales tactics in action—it really is a sight to be seen. All over the internet there are reports of how superior the resale market is, warnings of timeshare scams, and developers’ ridiculous prices. Visit BuyATimeshare.com and see for yourself that there is still away for superior vacationing at a price fit for any budget.

VPR Employee Swims “The Moat”, Dubbed the Infamous “Swamp Boy”!!! June 19, 2008

    Swamp Boy   _device-memory_home_user_pictures_img00004.jpg

It began as a regular day like any other, when a feat so appalling turned one ordinary supervisor into a renowned superhero! B.G. or “Swamp Boy” braved the mullet and bacteria-infested water to bring office morale to an all-time high.

“I started to get a little nervous after what Ed told me…” said Swamp Boy before the plunge.

In the end, a distance of 200 meters that was swam by Swamp Boy was a world record for the moat, which has been both driven in by a lady with a t-shirt that read “I’m with stupid —->” and used as a public latrine as well as a bathtub for the homeless.

Swamp Boy has no future plans of swimming the moat again, but instead plans on building a house in the Everglades to wrestle the American alligator. “I’ve always thought Aldo shoes were overpriced,” said Swamp Boy, “I’m gonna get me some gator boots!”

BuyATimeshare Warns Against Scam Artists June 17, 2008

In an effort to keep our customers informed and safe from fraud of any sort, we are writing to our many advertisers looking to sell their timeshare. It has come to our attention that there has been a rotten apple amongst the bunch. A certain individual has been making false offers to people in an attempt to get timeshare deeds in return for bad checks. Unfortunately there is not a lot we can do but to block each identity this scam artist has used and to make the public aware.

For every false name we find and block, he creates another, but there are ways you can be prepared and protected from fraud. Be cautious of any offers that do not come directly from our Buyer Specialist department, they will call you directly with any viable offers. Please understand that our site reaches millions of people worldwide and there is bound to be one person trying to take advantage of our system. Besides tracking the IP Address from an African Registration, there is little we can do but to make you the consumer aware of his tactics. There are various identities this individual has been using but he has been consistent in his mode of operation.

If you receive an offer that is well over what you advertised, by a Mary Courtney, David Marack, Neil Johnson, Robert Hunts, Mike John, James Adams, or Andrew Spaulding, simply reply that you know he’s a fake. The email address has been from a Yahoo account, regardless of what name he uses. There has typically been a phone number included so that he can talk to you in person. Despite telling you he lives in California or North Carolina or wherever, the phone number has always been an international number (0112348078772627). Now why would someone living stateside need an international number?

We know it is only a matter of time before he assumes another identity and probably another IP Address. The most important thing to take from this is that you should never give a copy of your deed to anyone other than a legitimate title company like Timeshare Titles. There is very personal information listed on the deeds which could lend a way for potential scam artists to prey on people and steel their identity, or even transfer the timeshare into their possession. Know that no matter how tempting an offer is, no one will pay more money than what you are asking; buyers on the secondary market are looking to save money—that should be your first red flag! Now that you know this scam artist’s mode of operation, you will know what to look for and how not to get tricked by this swindler.

If you have any questions regarding this issue please feel free to contact our customer service department anytime at 800-882-0296.

BuyATimeshare.com’s Tips to Timeshare Resale June 5, 2008

A timeshare can bring great savings, time, and money to vacationers who travel annually. The ability to prepay for time at an exotic, luxury resort is what makes timesharing so popular around the world.

Unfortunately people often loose interest and some never even visit their resort, simply being swayed by whatever high-pressure sales presentation they attended. And after the sour taste of pay far too much subsides, the proud new owner of a timeshare may decide to sell the property to some other unsuspecting vacation-goer.

This is where BuyATimshare.com can help! Most don’t make back what they paid. We will advertise your timeshare to a worldwide market of buyers who know where to find vacation properties on the resale market. These avid travelers are often looking for specific resorts, locations, and even price-range. With a guarantee to advertise your property until sold, we are the leading resource for buyers across multiple websites worldwide!

A 2008 report released by the American Resort Development Association (ARDA) shows that the popularity and the demand for timeshares is growing. With more than 4.5million U.S. households owning one or more timeshares in 1,604 resorts, there is always someone looking to buy, rent, or sell a timeshare. BuyATimeshare.com, the frontrunner in the timeshare resale industry, has sold thousands of these vacation properties. We match them to that ideal buyer who is searching for a specific location, resort, brand name, or even price range—hence our name BuyATimeshare.com.

If you are looking for an economical alternative to a hotel, or looking to own a week anywhere in the world for the next 5 or so years, timesharing will pay for themselves. The key is using the timeshare to its full potential, and knowing if it is right for you. Certain people use timeshares at different times in their life. An older couple with no use or money for a timeshare may want to sell it to a couple just starting out. It is a fact that timeshares are selling fast, regardless of the sluggish economy. This concept brings with it a truly superior vacation experience and a cost that is peanuts to an avid vacationer who wants to travel the world. This really is the only way to enjoy your precious time off. After adding lodging, entertainment, the fine cuisine and of course the airfare, finding an inexpensive resort from a renowned brand like Hilton, Marriott, or Wyndham would be quite the bonus.

At BuyATimeshare.com we can do all of this. Not only are we freeing people from a timeshare they do not want, but we are finding that perfect property for another family, for sale by owner and priced to sell. And unlike the high-priced developers’ offer, at BuyATimehsare.com, buyers can specify exactly where they vacation, at what luxury resort, and even specify the price-range!

Server Outage Affects Thousands of Businesses June 2, 2008

Posted by Bryan Connelly in : ARDA, Customer Comments, General, News & Events, Travel, Uncategorized , add a comment

You may have noticed that BuyATimeshare.com was not operational over this past weekend. Many internet based companies like us fell victim to a massive hosting outage on Saturday, May 31, 2008. Apparently high-volume electrical gear at ThePlanet, a major hosting provider in Houston, Texas, shorted out creating a fire and an explosion large enough to knock down walls and cripple 9,000 servers. The electrical equipment room on the first floor was blown several feet from their original position, causing a fire that destroyed underground cabling and power to the first floor of its H1 data center—affected 7,500 of its customers like BuyATimeshare.com.

The electrical equipment room and the entire data center, where the servers are housed, were severely damaged, knocking out power for over 24hours. Though this was a tragedy for the Houston, Texas business thankfully nobody was hurt and no servers were permanently damaged. Even though our website was offline, no information was lost. Thanks to the efforts of their support team, the near disaster simply stalled our website, rather than potentially crushing us and thousands of businesses that depend on servers to house valuable information. According to the Internet Media Technologies support team, the fire department would not allow ThePlanet to activate their backup generators. In effect this is what caused such a significant outage that left approximately 7,500 customers out of commission for the weekend.

We know that uptime is critical to selling your timeshare, thanks to the diligence and ‘round the clock efforts of ThePlanet, we were only offline for a mere weekend, rather than potentially devastating our entire business. The Houston-based company which provides servers for small and medium sized companies around the U.S. has since repaired their facility enough to restore power and services to their customers. Again, we assure you no information was lost and as of June 2nd at 11:30am the all clear was sent and ThePlanet is up and running at full capacity.

It is important for our customers to keep in mind that our websites and advertisements were all offline during this outage. This may temporarily affect our traffic statistics and other reports which are based on website activity. Thank you for your patience and thank you to the support team at Internet Media Technologies.
