Timeshares in DisneylandDisneyland first opened its magical doors on July 17th, 1955. At that time, no one would have ever dreamed of the amazing success and unrivaled popularity Disneyland would generate. Since its opening day, it is estimated that Disneyland has had over 500 million visitors from all over the world. Owned by the Walt Disney Company, this incredible theme park is second to none, and truly is a place that offers something for everyone.

The concept of Disneyland was very simple; a park that offers innovative and creative attractions that would appeal to both adults and children. This concept was derived from Walt Disney himself many years ago. Already having reached monumental success in the motion picture and television market, Walt Disney looked for new avenues of entertainment to tackle. Walt was always intrigued with amusement parks. As any father does, Walt would take his kids to the park, zoos, and carnivals, but always found himself sitting around while his children were off playing. Walt envisioned a place were both children and adults could have fun at the same time. Just like that, Disneyland was born. Construction on Disneyland began on July 18th, 1954 and costs were estimated to be around 17 million dollars. A year later to the day, the park opened to the public. Disneyland lists their official opening day as July 17, 1955 and that is because they had a special opening that day. Guests were allowed in Disneyland on an invite only basis. This special opening did not go well, and later became known as "Black Sunday". Hot weather, gas leaks, overcrowding, and lack of food were just some of the problems encountered at Disneyland. The park received a lot of bad press due to these problems they encountered, forcing Disneyland to have a private second opening day for the press only. Disneyland first opened its doors to the public the following day on July 18th. The park experienced enormous success almost instantly. People and families from around the world would travel great distances in unprecedented numbers for the Disneyland experience.

Timeshares in Disneyland available for saleDuring their initial opening, Disneyland was broken up into 5 themed areas. These areas consisted of Main Street U.S.A., Adventureland, Frontierland, Fantasyland, and Tomorrowland. Each area carried its own creative and innovative theme. As the popularity of Disney grew, so did Disneyland. They added three addition themed areas that are known as New Orleans Square, Critter County, and Mickey's Toontown.

These themed areas are not the only form of fun and entertainment at Disneyland. Disney characters such as Mickey Mouse, Daffy Duck, Goofy, and Minnie Mouse could be seen throughout the park. Parades were often held at Disneyland. Fireworks shows, daily ceremonies, and other performances could be viewed in many areas of Disneyland. There is a Disneyland Railroad System, Main Street Vehicles, as well as a Disneyland Monorail that guests can take advantage of to travel to different points of the park. If guests are looking for their favorite Disney merchandise, all they have to do is open their eyes. There are shops and vendors scattered throughout the park at the various themed areas. Not sure what you want to eat? Not sure what you're in the mood for? That's ok, there are various restaurants, and street vendors located all over the park offering an uncanny choice of different foods and snacks.

Disneyland is not just a place for children; it's for the child inside all of us. It has been visited from people of all walks of life, including presidents, sports legends, movie stars, and even royalty. For over 50 years, Disneyland has been promising an experience of a lifetime, and delivering on that promise. Disneyland is located at 1313 South Harbor Boulevard in Anaheim, California. Once you visit Disneyland, you and your family will have memories that last a lifetime.
