Brackenridge Park Municipal Golf Course

This historic 18-hole golf course, the first inductee into the Texas Golf Hall of Fame, was the original site of the PGA Winter Tour. Located near the heart of San Antonio in historic Brackenridge Park, this course is the oldest of the six municipal golf courses. It opened for play in 1916 as an 18-hole championship course. The Texas Open Golf Tournament originated on this course in 1922 and was played here until 1959. The golf course closed January 2008 for renovations and re-opened in October 2008. Renovations include greens, tees, fairways and a layout which includes 15 of the original 18 holes previously designed by the renowned golf course designer, A.W. Tillinghast. Thirty new bunkers were added to the course. The renovated golf course measures 6,263 from the championship tees with a par of 71.

Mission Del Lago Golf Course

The 18-hole "Mission Del Lago" course at the Mission Del Lago Municipal Golf Course facility in San Antonio, Texas features 7,004 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72 . The course rating is 72.6 and it has a slope rating of 127. Designed by Denis Griffiths, ASGCA, the Mission Del Lago golf course opened in 1989. Adam Alviar manages the course as the General Manager.

Olmos Basin Golf Club

Olmos Basin is one San Antonio's most popular municipal courses. It is located slightly north of downtown, off of Highway 281. It opened in 1963, and was designed by George Hoffman. Olmos Basin boasts a 6,870 yard layout from the championship tees with a slope rating of 71.0. Olmos has been the site of numerous men's and women's amateur championships. Narrow, tree-lined fairways require accuracy with your driver. Occasional water hazards or creeks will come into play. The par 3's are long and demanding.

Olympia Hills Golf & Conference Center

Olympia Hills is a Finger, Dye, Spann Design Group Layout. The 18-hole layout is owned and managed by the City of Universal City, Texas, making its debut in February of 2000. The course features dramatic elevation changes on holes 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 11, and 13, dropping 50 feet or more from tee to green. "Olympia Hills will offer great golf, some breathtaking holes and an encounter with some of the largest, most picturesque live oaks in Bexar County", states Baxter Spann golf course architect. The golf course features Bermuda grass and four sets of tees measuring 6,923 from the championship to 5,534 from the forward. The layout boasts naturally undulating topography, man-made mounds and strategic placement of bunkers, as well as native South Texas vegetation and wildlife that can be seen throughout.

Pecan Valley Golf Club

Originally designed by J. Press Maxwell in 1963, Pecan Valley Golf Club in San Antonio has long been recognized as one of golf's greatest masterpieces. Now, with the help of renowned architect Bob Cupp in 1998, Pecan Valley Golf Club has been restored to its legendary status with more than $5.5 million in improvements. The USGA selected Pecan Valley Golf Club to host the 2001 U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship. This exciting layout, set within 200 lush wooded acres, is nestled along the picturesque Salado Creek. One of the oldest and most storied golf courses in San Antonio, Pecan Valley played host to the 50th PGA championship, when Julius Boros edged Arnold Palmer on the 18th hole. Pecan Valley was also home to the Texas Open in 1967, 1969, and 1970. This is your chance to walk in the footsteps of The Golden Bear, Arnie, and Chi Chi. Recently, Pecan Valley was featured in Golf Digest as one ot the top 25 courses in the state.

Riverside Municipal Golf Course

The 18-hole "Eighteen" course at the Riverside Golf Course facility in San Antonio, Texas features 6,729 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72 . The course rating is 72.0 and it has a slope rating of 128. Designed by Harold Hink /Vernon Schmidt, the Eighteen golf course opened in 1968. Kevin Roschek manages the course as the General Manager.

San Antonio Missions National Historical Park

in 1718 Franciscans and Spanish representatives established the first mission. Within 13 years, five were located along the San Antonio River. The missions' purpose? To acculturate and Christianize the native population and make them Spanish citizens. Today, visitors can retrace the footsteps of the mission Indians and friars. And, possibly, meet descendants of those first inhabitants.
