This unit was purchased in 1998. Originally our plan was to mainly visit this home resort yearly and occasionally trade. Our first few years we did have the opportunity to visit and enjoy this awesome getaway. Typically, once we did our grocery shopping on the way in we did not have to use our car again the whole week. Bikes are definitely the way to go in Hilton Head. There is a private beach for the resort down the road or sidewalks to the main public beach where there is quite a bit of activity and a tiki bar at the Holiday Inn right on the beach which has always been alot of fun for us. The whole resort has paths throughout with large oak trees with Spanish moss dangling from the branches. Also, this unit is located on the golf course and lagoon with grills right out your back porch.
In 2002 we purchased a seasonal business which no longer allowed us to visit this location during the summer. Since then we have been trading it for many Florida and also ski vacations. We have been to Tahoe, Utah and Colorado skiing. This unit trades in the RCI system. Over the years we have learned how best to make use of this system to maximize our trading power and get really fabulous resorts. This unit deposits with 28 points in the RCI weeks system.
The timeshare option has given us the opportunity to visit resorts that we never would have been able to afford to stay at otherwise.
In 2009 we bought a second unit out west and then in December 2011 my brother relinquished to us a unit that has been in our family since 1985. So basically that is the only reason we are selling this one. We can only travel so much. Hopefully this information is helpful in you vacation research.
